I'm a Computer Engineer with a Master's in Computer Science, with a career spanning software development, university teaching, and solutions architecture.

The beginning

I started my career in the early 2000s building internet banking platforms, mobile solutions, and online payment systems. That stage let me work directly on digital products at a time when many of the technologies we now take for granted were still taking their first steps.

University teaching

A particularly significant part of my career happened at Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, where I was a professor for fourteen years. I taught courses like Operating Systems, Programming Languages, Mobile Development, Web Programming, C/C++, and Assembler, and also took part in graduate programs related to free software.

The university also gave me the chance to design new courses, help create a diploma program, and coordinate institutional free-software adoption initiatives. But the most valuable part of that experience was learning to explain complex ideas clearly, support different learning processes, and understand that technical knowledge only reaches its real value when it's shared. That stage still shapes how I work today, especially when guiding teams, documenting decisions, and facilitating conversations between people with different perspectives.

My education developed alongside that experience. Besides the Computer Engineering degree and the Master's in Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering, I studied university teaching, IT management based on free software, agile methodologies, financial technology, and cloud architecture.

My current work as an architect

After my academic stage, I went back fully into industry work, first in insurance and later as a solutions architect in banking and retail. I've taken part in technology modernization efforts, API and distributed architecture design, cloud platform adoption, and defining standards for systems that need to run securely, reliably, and sustainably.

I currently work in solutions architecture, connecting business needs with technology decisions and supporting teams from the initial definition through implementation. Even though the technology has changed considerably since I started, I keep the same interest in understanding how things work, finding reasonable solutions, and sharing what I learn along the way.

This blog is an extension of that journey: a space to record ideas, experiences, and learnings about software architecture, technology, and whatever else sparks my curiosity.
